We're trying to
preserve the Tara Landscape from the M3 motorway. In August 2003 An
Bord Pleanála granted planning permission
for a 50-km, 1 billion euro twice tolled motorway scheme through the
Gabhra Valley between the Hills of Tara and Skryne,
in Co Meath, Ireland. Map shows the growing numbers of Sites, Monuments
and Complexes
along the proposed route of the M3 tolled motorway through the Tara
Landscape, Royal Demesne of Tara, Gabhra Valley, underlining the
reason why the proposed motorway corridor must
never be used. Note the M3 Toll Road proposed to go through Rathlugh
(Top Right) and through the National Monument at Lismullen. Defensive
fortification around the Hill of Tara marked in red. Archaeological
sites marked with white dots, those recorded in
the geophysical survey marked with yellow dots, those discovered during
test trenching
marked with green dots.

the globe,

the Tara Landscape
